Felix aka Mazoepapi is a 22 year old Zimbabwean medical student at Sumy State University, Ukraine, who is also the co-founder of @pressure_zero and a rising comedian. Using social media to springboard his growth in comedy, Felix is gaining an increasing following on Instagram and Twitter for his entertaining and relatable clips.

Why did you get into comedy?

That’s my purpose in life. The combination of comedy and medicine work together because those are my 2 passions and I love to make people laugh.

Did you expect to gain such a big following?

When I started, I was hoping for just 100 views – next thing I was surprised to see my videos spread more than I thought and they exceeded my expectations.

Where does the inspiration for your content come from?

It comes from my experiences… even the dark ones. I try to see how I can put a comic twist to everything and make it relatable.

What is your favourite piece of your own?

I like the one about watching football and prayer. It’s the most accurate because I didn’t really exaggerate much.

Do you feel the responsibility to comment on social or political issues in Zimbabwe?

Yes, I like to make fun of politics sometimes. I don’t like to get into certain controversial issues like religion though. Our nation is very conservative and that can be a challenge. Sometimes people may not receive some jokes well because of different beliefs. I’m still testing the waters and seeing exactly where I fit in on the scene.

Who are you comedy role models?

I like Munashe Chirisa, Simba Murengami and I also like Reggie Couz, Renny and Longbeach_griffy . I like comedians from many different parts of the world. I don’t want my body of work to resemble any one particular person. I’d hate to hear anyone say they thought I was like anyone.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

I want everyone to know me and I want to be an ambassador for something big. I want to reach 100 thousand followers. I want to spread positive influence.
